The Downtown Victoria Business Association (DVBA) is once again offering its “Today’s the Day!” parking program to encourage shoppers to come Downtown Victoria. Starting today, two hours of free parking will be offered by the DVBA at City of Victoria parkades between 11am and 2pm, every Saturday in the Fall, until December 19. DVBA Ambassadors will be on hand at the following parkades to hand out “Two Hours Free” parking cards:
- Bastion Square (500 block Yates)
- Centennial Square (600 block Fisgard)
- Johnson St (700 block)
- Library (700 block Broughton)
- View St (700 block View)
And … the meter fairies are back! Although I didn’t mention it in my post of a couple of weeks ago, it was the meter fairies sometimes dispatched by the Downtown Victoria Business Association who actually partially inspired my Random Acts of Kindness that I performed in downtown Victoria. The DVBA meter fairies go around and add 15 minutes of time to expired parking meters throughout the downtown. Nice!
If these two things aren’t a further inspiration to go downtown Victoria this fall on Saturdays, I don’t know what is. Thanks DVBA for helping to make this city’s downtown a pretty great place to visit.
