Taste of Vancouver

Spent a fantastic weekend last weekend in Vancouver with a girlfriend, which marked the first time since Chelsea was born last year that I’ve been away from her overnight. And two nights at that!

Did some of my favourite things:

  • Brunched at Raincity Grill near English Bay
  • Shopped for trinkets at Daiso – the Japanese $2 store – in Richmond’s Aberdeen Centre
  • Ran around (some of) the Stanley Park seawall
  • Shopped in South Granville – my old neighbourhood when I lived in Vancouver
  • Ate sushi on Robson Street
  • Lunched on the back patio at the Granville Island Hotel
  • Ate a cream puff at Beard Papa’s in Aberdeen Centre

And added a few new things too:

  • Discovered Vij’s casual dining restaurant called Rangoli (yum!)
  • Shopped for the cutest kids’ things at Pottery Barn Kids in South Granville
  • Took a tour through the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Chinese Garden in Chinatown

Still left lots of things ‘undone’ for future visits though of course. My friend – who had never been to Vancouver – loved it! But of course…

  1. Good to see you blogging, Beth. We loved Dr. Sun Yat Sen's garden because from any angle at all there was a beautiful, well-composed picture. I shot loads!
