A Tupperware legacy

I had a Tupperware party on Friday and it made me think of my grandma. You know, when she died I got a slight inheritance but what actually meant the most to me was getting some kitchen items that my mom saved for me from when they went through grandma’s apartment. Among the items was the Tupperware bowl above, which I have used regularly over the years. This little item was undoubtedly old when Grandma passed away ten years ago, but it’s still going strong. I like keeping it and her other things around – they make me think of her every time I use them.

Other people’s things that become ours have a way of doing that to us, don’t they? Those things don’t have to be expensive, they don’t have to be luxurious. They just have to have meaning, for us. I love this little yellow bowl. Not because it is Tupperware but because it was Grandma’s and now, mine.
