Brunch on top

When I was volunteering a couple of months ago at Feast of Fields I bid on and won a couple of silent auction items. One of them was brunch for two at The Aerie Resort, a five-star resort located 1500 feet above sea level just outside of Victoria. Lucky for us, this beautiful resort – complete with hotel, spa and restaurant – is just a 25 minute drive from our house. I’ve always wanted to go there, and this was my chance.

You can’t beat the views. We took these shots from our table after we had gazed at them all throughout our two-hour meal.
The dining room was understatedly sumptuous, and our table felt very private as no one was sitting next to us.
The views and the surroundings were absolutely lovely, but let’s not forget about the food! I had a Thai curry hot pot soup with salmon pieces in it (to die for!), an Eggs Benedict with crab main course (delicious!), and a chocolate tart for dessert (decadent!). As I sipped my decaf coffee (delightful!), I noted that this was a pretty amazing meal.

When you’re sitting on top of the world, gazing down on a stunning vista of mountains and water alongside excellent company, you can’t find too much in this world to complain about. Go if you have the chance!

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yes, yesterday was a good day.

Gorgeous pictures. I would love to travel and see the world. Sigh. I still have children in school.

It’s fun to look at scenic pictures of the world. Thanks for sharing the “vista on top.”
