We checked out the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival this afternoon, my first time seeing this festival even though I’ve known about it in Vancouver and Victoria for quite some time. Although one day I’d like to participate as a rower in an actual boat, I had to content myself today with simply being part of the crowd on the dock.
Brightly coloured lanterns lined the pier: The boats whizzed by in a drumming frenzy:
An above-the-head shot captured them gliding to the finish line:Another viewpoint showed another heat paddling for their lives:And the boat in front cruised to their victory:
While the others slunk in after past the crowd:
All this boating viewing in the sun made us thirsty! Good thing Victoria has no shortage of cool patios to sit and take a break on. We took full advantage.
