This is the story of a cat named Calvin, who got a little sick one day. He felt a little uncomfortable and was acting a little strangely. His owners tried a home remedy that was suggested by their pet store and it looked like it was working. Calvin’s body told them later that it was not.
A day later – at the start of a long weekend – Calvin decided that he had to get rushed to the emergency vet clinic. He was feeling very uncomfortable and acting very strangely. The vet did a few things for him and then sent him home. Then Calvin decided that he had to get rushed to the emergency vet clinic again, this time at 4am that night. This time, Calvin didn’t get sent home.
And so Calvin is still at the vet, getting treated for a urinary tract infection. Poor little Calvin! His innards are swollen and sore, and he feels like he’s been run over by a truck. At least this is what his owners think he must feel like. They also feel like their wallets will soon be run over by a truck. They think that the truck will drag their wallets up the hill, down the highway, all the way to the ferry terminal and – kerplunk! – drop into the ocean. They might as well be there because they’re going to be pretty empty for a while.
Calvin hopes to come home soon. Maybe tonight but probably tomorrow. He thinks it sucks that he won’t be able to eat his regular food anymore. Ever. His owners think it sucks that Calvin isn’t home yet, and miss his furry little body.
